What is Hypnotherapy?

In your lifetime, you will have thought about billions upon billions of things -- in fact, it is said that the average human being has tens of thousands of thoughts each day.  In amongst all that thinking, have you ever stopped and actually thought about 'your thoughts'?  One little thought alone seems so harmless, but the truth is, our thoughts - both individually and as a whole - have incredible power over ourselves and our lives.

Often, it seems like we have no control over our thoughts. Our minds run around like wild children on the playground without supervision. And this state of play can allow past hurts to start their bullying, negatively affecting our daily lives.  When our thoughts are negative, many of us will try very hard to ignore them. Most of the time this will only push them back down and suppress them; and like a compacted spring, the negative thoughts then have even more power to reach even further (and do more damage) the next time they fight to become released.

When our thought-processes are out of control, the more negative chemicals flow into our bodies, the worse we feel. It becomes a cycle that gets really hard to break. Especially since, at any given time, many of these cycles are going on at a low level. And so the cycle continues, we just keep trying to ignore them, and then we become so accustomed to it all that we lose inner battle, after battle, after battle.

This is where hypnosis and self-hypnosis makes such a big difference.  The deep relaxation and focusing exercises of hypnosis work to self help, calm and subdue the conscious mind so that it takes a less active role in your thinking process.  In this state, you're still aware of what's going on, but your conscious mind takes a backseat to your subconscious mind. The subconscious is what regulates your bodily sensations, such as taste, touch and sight, as well as your emotional feelings.

Effectively, hypnotherapy allows you to work directly with the subconscious. It's as if the hypnotism process pops open a self-help control panel inside your brain.

It is at this point that you begin to experience change, with the proper motivations, of course......Enter Hypnotherapy.  It really is as straightforward as that -- by using any self-help hypnosis recording by Beverly Benner Murphy, you will instantly have the tools you need - all on one little compact disc - to start powering your mind, just like you want to!

Remember, hypnosis is just adding the positive suggestions YOU want, while you are in a more agreeable state to new programming.  When better to do this than the drowsy twilight time between sleeping and waking? This is why we recommend playing our Introduction to Hypnotherapy CDs as you go to sleep each night, for as long as you feel the need to do so.
